Job summary

Rumpke Waste & Recycling is seeking a Corporate Vendor Safety Compliance Specialist to oversee the safety vetting of multiple vendor categories and serve as the primary safety resource for internal teams engaging third‑party vendors. You will manage safety qualifications for motor carriers and contractors, ensuring compliance with applicable requirements.

Requirements include 3–5 years in safety/compliance and the ability to collaborate across Risk, Legal, and Procurement.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in safety, compliance, risk management, or related field.
• Experience interpreting safety and regulatory documentation preferred.
• Bachelor's degree preferred or combination of education/experience in the industry.

Responsibilities

• Oversee vendor safety vetting for multiple categories of vendors.
• Serve as primary safety compliance resource for internal teams engaging third-party vendors.
• Manage safety qualification for motor carriers used by brokerage operations.
• Administer safety qualification requirements for contractors and subcontractors performing project work.
• Evaluate contractors based on hazards and scope of work for each project.
• Maintain centralized vendor safety qualification database and renewal intervals.
• Coordinate with risk management, legal, procurement and other leaders to ensure vendor compliance.
