Burlington Stores, Inc. in the United States seeks a Vendor Performance Supervisor to lead a team of 3-5 analysts who review vendor compliance data, identify improvement opportunities, and regularly meet with vendors and buyers to improve vendor performance.
The role assigns projects, reviews findings, and shares results with vendors and merchants; it also facilitates meetings to explain operational guidelines and concrete actions vendors can take to improve performance.
The Vendor Performance Supervisor leads a team of 3-5 direct reports that reviews vendor compliance data, identifies opportunities for improvement and regularly meets with vendors and buyers to improve vendor performance. The Vendor Performance Supervisor assigns the team’s research projects, reviews findings and shares results with vendors and merchants; facilitates meetings with vendors to explain operational guidelines and to offer specific actions they can take to improve performance.
Successfully drives business results through positive, influential leadership by demonstrating high professional and personal standards; resolves challenges in a proactive and decisive manner. Regularly takes staff to onsite vendor visits, trade shows and industry conferences to expand their networks and develop supplier relationships. Coaches team to improve written and verbal communication levels with a focus on vendor and merchant presentations. Creates an environment where people are encouraged to reach their full potential. Is accountable for coaching-in-the-moment, engagement and associate development. Recognizes and rewards the successes of others. Attracts, develops and retains the next generation of leaders.
Leads on and off-site vendor meetings to review vendor scorecards and discuss compliance performance. Proactively advises on operational solutions to address current issues and prevent future incidents. Establishes self as point of contact (POC) for vendors to contact with questions or concerns. Maintains professional and supportive working relationships with vendors through proactive engagement and regular check-ins. Works closely with buyers to understand key vendors’ issues and regularly reviews account performance with them. Assists with communicating new Burlington initiatives to vendors and partners with buying colleagues to align on tone and communication strategies. Fosters effective interpersonal skills to cultivate productive working relationships. Utilizes strong organizational partnerships to enhance information sharing, support informed decision-making, and achieve objectives. Embraces diverse perspectives and promotes inclusion to address complex challenges. Maintains professionalism across all communication channels. Regularly coordinates and collaborates with cross-functional teams, including but not limited to the DCs, Finance, Merchandise Processing, PO Tracking, and Supply Chain. Develops business solutions with senior leadership.
Demonstrates the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and draw meaningful insights. Evaluates complex information to support strategic decision-making and optimize business outcomes. Translates data into actionable recommendations that drive efficiency and innovation. Promotes and exhibits business curiosity. Partners with leadership to align analytics with strategic vision. Reviews team’s research projects and validates results; develops and implements research strategies and processes the team can use to identify root causes for vendor issues. Monitors content and timing of team responses to ensure accurate and timely processing and communication. Remains close to daily work incidents and escalates issues as needed. Reviews and analyzes reporting to ensure open incidents are current and being actioned as needed. Helps establish and maintain departmental Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Oversees the maintenance, organization and documentation of team’s work processes.
Serves as Subject Matter Expert (SME) to address and answer questions from team members and internal partners related to Burlington merchandise operations. Applies expertise to evaluate proposed solutions and their benefits. Manages challenging situations for key vendors. Utilizes analytical proficiency to identify business opportunities and to create actionable recommendations that drive results in line with the business’s short- and long-term goals. Supports Manager in leading departmental projects that support Burlington initiatives. Promotes change management for team members and business stakeholders. Assists with creating reference materials and explains process requirements to key vendors.
Bachelor's degree preferred.
3+ years supervisory experience in retail, vendor relations or supply chain is preferred.
Compensation Range: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00
