Job description

The Vendor Management Office (VMO) is responsible for the strategic delivery of driving vendor resource needs globally, delivering on all aspects of the vendor management lifecycle. The responsibilities include but not limited to working closely with FedEx management across the different divisions in understanding the needs and challenges working with vendors, improving the experience, contract initiation, negotiation, project/scrum management and vendor compliance and governance. The ideal candidate will represent business owners' needs in Vendor Management, ensuring adherence to all policies, processes and procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Supports various implementation activities with regard to rolling out an enterprise VMS application, facilitating the development and ensuring continuous improvements in the quality, cost, delivery and support of services

  • Performs vendor management functions in accordance with established procedures and produces reports to meet business needs

  • Works with vendor management business partners to ensure vendor due diligence activities are completed on schedule

  • Develops and manages relationships with various internal and external stakeholders such as Sourcing, Finance, Legal, various locations site management teams and Vendor partner delivery organizations

  • Assists with developing process improvement recommendations and help to manage end to end implementation by understanding the business needs of FedEx and drive automation as well as process innovation with vendors.

  • Provides awareness and support to ensure vendor adherence to contractual obligations, including but not limited to performance monitoring, SLA's, compliance, firm and industry standards, legal requirements, finance/tax requirements and audit findings.

  • Provides input to streamline the contract process in order to support additional business requests in the VMS application

  • Assists with governance meeting preparation, tracking status, and enhancing associated reporting. Coordinates, orchestrates and delivers governance meetings at the Operational & Strategic levels

  • Assist with performance analysis, and produce reports and dashboards/scorecards with key vendor / resource metrics

  • Reports progress on an agreed cadence to Leadership, managing expectations and seeking direction to resolve critical issues that may impact the projects

  • Performs other duties as assigned.


MINIMUM EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree/equivalent

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

  • Four (4) years of vendor management experience, to include vendor performance metrics

  • Project/AGILE experience

  • MS Office, including expertise in Excel

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Understanding of relevant vendor types/skillsets/rate card needs required by FedEx

  • Ability to successfully handle multiple priorities and maintain effectiveness when experiencing major change in work tasks or work environment

  • Provide a team culture, working closely with various business partners

  • Strong facilitation skills, ability to see the big picture and generate / adopt new ideas

  • Knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance


Preferred Qualifications: Experience with vendor metrics; MS Excel proficiency; compliance experience.

Pay Transparency: This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job-related factors permitted by law. An employee may be eligible for additional pay, premiums, or bonus potential. The Company offers eligible employees health, vision and dental insurance, retirement, and tuition reimbursement.

Pay: US Pay Range: $6,168.90/month - $13,571.58/month (E26)

Additional Details: The desired locations for this role are Memphis, TN; Pittsburgh, PA; and Plano, TX. It may be located anywhere in the US except AK, HI, and U.S. territories. Depending on your location, you may need to work at a FedEx Campus several times per week.
