Job summary

Vallen is seeking a Vendor Managed Inventory Coordinator I to deliver and set up inventory at customer sites. You will handle physical and administrative tasks for storing, distributing, and fulfilling orders, ensuring shipments match purchase orders, and transporting cargo to customers.

You will be trained on internal systems and operate forklifts and carts as needed. The role requires at least 1 year of relevant warehouse experience, a reliability mindset, and the ability to work independently

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of relevant warehouse, inventory counting or delivery experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred (not required).
• Must be reliable and able to work independently.
• Attendance is important; must show up for work every day.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accuracy of shipments to the customer.
• Set up VMI areas and receive shipment materials at customer sites.
• Track customer orders from warehouse to delivery and setup.
• Process customer spot buy orders when needed and relay to CSR/AR.
• Recommend changes to inventory levels based on usage.
• Keep bar code labels up to date for scanners.
• Scan barcodes at customer site to generate orders.
• Maintain awareness of min/max, reorder point/quantity and report observations.
• Assist in annual inventory counts.
• Present information and respond to questions from clients, customers, and managers.
• Perform other duties as requested.

About the job Vendor Inventory Coordinator

Summary

Vendor Managed Inventory Coordinator I is an individual contributor that delivers and set up inventory at customer's designated sites. Performs the physical or administrative tasks involved in storing, distributing and order fulfillment of merchandise, products, materials, parts, supplies and equipment. Checks goods distribution against purchase orders or invoices, Responsible for transporting company cargo to customers. Conducts inventory task in accordance with local VMI processes. Follows proper guidelines for use of all equipment. Ensures equipment is clean, safe. Reports concerns to management team.

Need someone that is reliable and able to work independently.

Attendance is important! Must be able to show up for work every day.

Previous inventory management experience is required, such as cycle counting, issuing parts, etc. This is a big part of the job.

Understanding of the materials being issued is strongly preferred (PPE, hand tools, and power tools).

Needs to have some level of computer experience. MS Suite experience is beneficial.

Will be trained on internal systems.

Will drive sit down forklift and golf cart. Forklift experience preferred.

Warehouse is not temp controlled. Can get warm in the summer. It is heated, but can get chilly due to doors being opened.

Dress code: long pants and t-shift/polo. No shorts.

Steel toe shoes with internal metatarsals are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the VMI customer space/placement, sets up the appropriate area to receive shipment of material and stocks product in the customer's designated area.
• Follows the customer order through from pick-up at Vallen's warehouse/DC to delivery and set up at customer site.
• Takes customer spot buy orders when needed and relays the information to the CSR or AR.
• Recommends changes to the customer inventory levels based on usage.
• Ensures that bar code labels are up to date and legible for scanners to read and advised management when new barcode labels are needed.
• Scans barcodes at customer site to generate customer orders.
• Maintains awareness of min/max, reorder point/quantity and reports observations back to managements.
• Assist in the annual inventory (cycle) counts on consigned
• Presents information and respond to questions from clients, customers, and managers.
• 5S all VMI Point of Use areas.
• Performs other duties as requested.

Requirements

Minimum of 1 year of relevant warehouse, inventory counting or delivery, experience. High school diploma or equivalent preferred (not required).

Relevant experience should include:
