Team Modern in Somerset, KY is seeking a Vending Route Supervisor to lead the route team responsible for servicing vending machines and micro markets, using data to improve routes and product selection.

  • Strong coaching, communication, organization, and customer service skills, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Familiarity with route planning and optimization tools is a plus.
  • At least 21 years old, with a valid driver’s license and the ability to meet requirements for driving company vehicles and covering routes.
  • Ability to complete required pre-employment screening and follow workplace safety policies.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise route drivers; conduct performance reviews and coaching to support efficient, on-time service and safe work practices.
  • Use analytics and route planning tools to plan and optimize routes and staffing for timely service and coverage.
  • Monitor labor costs, waste, consumption, and inventory levels; use results to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Analyze sales data and use data analysis tools to optimize planograms and product placement in vending machines and micro markets.
  • Coordinate with the supply chain team to maintain stock levels and resolve product availability issues.
  • Conduct regular ride-alongs, provide feedback and training, and provide relief coverage when necessary.
  • Oversee training and development for route drivers and ensure proficiency in essential functions.
  • Respond to customer questions and complaints, follow issues through to resolution, and partner with other teams on service improvements.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs, working with other teams.
  • Support scheduling coordinator with routing as needed.
  • Follow and reinforce company safety policies and guidelines.

Position Summary

The Vending Route Supervisor leads the route team responsible for servicing vending machines and micro markets. This supervisor sets daily priorities, develops drivers, monitors service and operating results, and uses sales and inventory data to improve routes and product selection. The role balances planning and analysis with field observation, customer problem solving, and route coverage when needed.

What You'll Do
  • Supervise route drivers; conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching and training to support efficient, on-time service, accuracy, productivity, and safe work practices.
  • Use analytics and route planning tools to plan and optimize routes and staffing for timely service, reliable coverage, and efficient use of labor and vehicles.
  • Monitor direct labor costs, waste, consumption, and inventory levels; use the results to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Analyze sales data and use data analysis tools to optimize planograms, product assortment, and placement in vending machines and micro markets.
  • Coordinate with the supply chain team to maintain appropriate stock levels and resolve product availability issues.
  • Conduct regular ride-alongs, provide practical feedback and training, and remain familiar with routes so you can provide relief coverage when necessary.
  • Oversee training and development for route drivers, ensuring proficiency in essential job functions and supporting continued growth.
  • Respond to customer questions and complaints, follow issues through to resolution, and partner with other teams on service improvements.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs, working with other teams to put process improvements into practice and support company goals.
  • Support scheduling coordinator with routing as needed.
  • Follow and reinforce company safety policies and guidelines.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Vending Manager. Duties and responsibilities may change with business needs.

Work is performed both in an office and at customer locations throughout the assigned service area, with travel from Somerset for ride-alongs and route coverage. Work may require frequent reaching, bending, and stooping; routinely lifting 25 pounds; and occasionally lifting and maneuvering 50 pounds.
