LAMP Platform and Email Services Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a LAMP Platform and Email Services Specialist. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing LAMP platforms, email services, and related technologies. The successful candidate will be responsible for capacity planning, incident response, and maintenance of our LAMP and email platforms.

Key Responsibilities (Operative Role)

  1. Capacity Planning:
    Conduct regular capacity assessments of the LAMP and email platform.
    Collaborate with the team to plan and execute upgrades and software changes as needed for future growth.
    Monitor and maintain server utilization rates to ensure sufficient capacity for future growth.
  2. Incident Response:
    Participate in the development and execution of incident response plans.
    Assist in the identification, response, and resolution of technical and security incidents.
    Work towards minimizing the impact of security incidents and reducing downtime for users.
  3. Maintenance:
    Perform regular maintenance activities, including software updates, backups, and security assessments.
    Ensure servers are up-to-date with the latest security patches to minimize the risk of security vulnerabilities.
  4. Technical Responsibilities:
    Assist in managing and maintaining various components of the LAMP stack and email services, including Debian, Apache, MySQL/MariaDB, and Postfix.
    Support network and firewall administration, monitoring and logging, cluster administration, and load balancing.
    Contribute to the management of cloud computing platforms such as OpenStack, virtualization platforms such as Proxmox, and infrastructure automation using tools like Salt and Terraform.

Qualifications:
Proven experience in managing LAMP platforms, email services, and related technologies.
In-depth knowledge of various LAMP components and email services, including Debian, Apache, MySQL, Postfix, and HAProxy.
Familiarity with network security tools and practices, including mod_security and fail2ban.
Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Nagios, Zabbix, and auditd.
Knowledge of cloud computing platforms such as OpenStack and virtualization platforms such as Proxmox.
Expertise in automating infrastructure management using tools such as Salt and Terraform.
Proficiency in programming and scripting languages, particularly Bash, for automation and task simplification.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Experience Levels:

  1. Entry-Level Sysadmin (1-2 years of experience):
    Basic understanding of LAMP stack components and email services.
    Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools.
    Some experience with cloud computing platforms and virtualization technologies.
    Basic knowledge of Bash scripting or other scripting languages.
    Exposure to network security tools and practices, including mod_security and fail2ban.
  2. Intermediate Sysadmin (3-5 years of experience):
    In-depth knowledge of various LAMP components and email services.
    Experience with monitoring and logging tools, cloud computing platforms, and virtualization technologies.
    Proficiency in Bash scripting or other scripting languages for automation purposes.
    Experience in infrastructure management using tools such as Salt and Terraform.
    Familiarity with network security tools and practices, including mod_security and fail2ban.
  3. Senior Sysadmin (6+ years of experience):
    Extensive experience managing LAMP platforms, email services, and related technologies.
    Expert knowledge of various LAMP components, email services, and monitoring tools.
    Deep understanding of cloud computing platforms, virtualization technologies, and infrastructure automation tools.
    Strong proficiency in Bash scripting or other scripting languages for advanced automation and task simplification.
    Proven track record of problem-solving and troubleshooting complex issues.
    Advanced expertise in network security tools and practices, including mod_security and fail2ban.
