Job summary

Rivian Automotive seeks an Engineering Technician for Vehicle Engineering Labs to support operation and maintenance of vehicle testing facilities. You will coordinate with customers and focus on continuous improvement of testing and maintenance processes.

The role requires hands-on testing work with prototype vehicles, maintaining facilities, and documenting procedures to ensure safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• 1-3+ years of automotive- or aerospace-related testing experience.
• Experience operating and maintaining climate chamber and chassis dynamometer facilities strongly preferred.
• Strong technical and mechanical aptitude with automotive and electrified powertrain vehicles preferred.
• Fabrication, wiring, and building control system troubleshooting experience.
• A proven track record of problem-solving and independent root cause analysis.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to produce clear, organized, and timely documentation.
• Team-oriented mindset.
• Strong interest in automotive technology.
• Ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Support the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of testing facilities.
• Develop, document, and implement testing and maintenance procedures in compliance with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) requirements.
• Install instrumentation, test equipment, and other components on prototype vehicles in accordance with engineering specifications, standards, and/or test procedures.
• Provide daily operational and test execution support across multiple facilities.
• Plan and execute preventive maintenance activities.
