The Vehicle Technical Inspector / Quick-Fix Technician is responsible for conducting routine and periodic vehicle inspections, diagnosing vehicle issues, performing quick fixes and basic repairs, and ensuring vehicles remain safe, compliant, and operational. This role plays a critical part in minimizing vehicle downtime, improving fleet availability, and supporting daily fleet operations.

Key Responsibilities

Vehicle Inspection & Compliance

• Conduct routine and periodic vehicle inspections in accordance with California regulations and company procedures.
• Assess overall vehicle condition, including mechanical, electrical, safety, and cosmetic components.
• Perform vehicle readiness checks before deployment and handover.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable safety and regulatory requirements.

Diagnostics, Troubleshooting & Repairs

• Diagnose basic mechanical and electrical faults on vehicles.
• Perform 12V battery inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and replacement.
• Execute quick fixes and minor repairs to minimize vehicle downtime.
• Identify issues requiring advanced repair and accelerate appropriately.
• Support preventive maintenance activities to improve vehicle reliability and performance.

Fleet Maintenance Support

• Monitor vehicle condition and recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate with maintenance vendors and internal teams regarding repair requirements.
• Ensure vehicles are maintained in a safe and operational condition.
• Contribute to fleet availability and operational efficiency targets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, technical diploma, or equivalent vocational training in Automotive Technology, Vehicle Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in automotive or electric vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Experience conducting vehicle inspections, fault diagnosis, and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience performing basic repairs and maintenance tasks.
• Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and 12V battery systems.
• Valid driver's license and any licenses required for specific job functions.
