Job summary

PACCAR is seeking a Systems Engineer- Vehicle Function Definition to lead the development of vehicle systems and software definitions. You will define requirements, develop features, and collaborate with the architecture team to ensure compliant DOORS/DNG documentation.

The role requires 5+ years in automotive systems engineering, strong leadership, and experience with DOORS, DNG, and JAMA. Onsite at PACCAR facilities with travel up to 10% and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related technical degree.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with automotive or similar electronic modules and/or systems engineering.
• Experience with requirement management tools such as DOORS, DNG, JAMA, etc.

Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of systems development including requirements definition and analysis.
• Implement new features and functions.
• Build Control Function Architecture with architecture team support.
• Create and maintain system/software specs in IBM DOORS Next Generation (DNG).
• Lead/participate in software peer reviews for requirement compliance.
• Provide technical leadership for advanced technology development.
• Collaborate to define and negotiate key functional and performance requirements.
• Ensure milestones are met with high quality and safety compliance.
• Represent the team as a key product partner.
• Travel up to 10% as needed.
