Job summary

American Medical Response in Stone Mountain, GA is hiring an EMS Service Technician (NOT a mechanic) to maintain ambulances and field response vehicles in a constant state of readiness. You will perform routine maintenance, inventory, cleaning, restocking supplies, and document vehicle conditions for each shift.

The role emphasizes fast-paced operations, attention to detail, and adherence to company policies and information security standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Previous experience in vehicle service, fleet support, logistics, or related field preferred.
• Valid State Driver's License required.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inventory checks and maintain control of vehicle supplies and equipment.
• Clean ambulances and other fleet vehicles inside and out on a daily basis.
• Restock medical supplies and equipment as needed.
• Ensure monitor batteries are properly maintained and deep cycled as required.
• Check and replenish oil, windshield washer fluid, and other basic vehicle fluids.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Requisition and track supplies for replacement and replenishment.
• Report vehicle breakdowns, equipment failures, and maintenance concerns to Fleet Maintenance and supervision.
• Document vehicle conditions and readiness status at the end of each shift.
• Update fleet and equipment tracking systems accurately and timely.
• Inform Supervisor and Fleet Maintenance of breakdowns and cause of equipment failure for repair/reallocate ambulance to crew and keep accurate log.
• Respond to operational inquiries from field crews and assist with coordination between departments.
• Complete all required company training and comply with organizational policies, procedures, and information security requirements.
• Conduct self in a professional manner in accordance with the Company’s 'Standards of Conduct' policy
• Complete all required/assigned Company training
• Adhere to and comply with all Company and information security systems policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The Vehicle Service Technician (VST) is responsible for ensuring all ambulances and field response vehicles are maintained in a constant state of readiness for operational crews. The VST plays a critical role in reducing downtime, supporting patient care operations, and maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and functionality of vehicles, equipment, and supplies. The goal is to provide field crews with safe, clean, fully stocked, and operational vehicles for every shift.
