Job summary

Budget Utah seeks a motivated Vehicle Rental Sales & Service Associate to serve the Murray and Salt Lake City areas. You will guide customers through the rental process, recommend vehicles, manage rental paperwork, and coordinate daily branch activity.

No prior rental industry experience is required; training will teach procedures, systems, and customer service and sales skills. Full-time, weekend availability is expected.

Are you someone who enjoys working with people, finding solutions, and helping customers make informed decisions? We are seeking a motivated Vehicle Rental Sales & Service Associate to join our team serving the Murray and Salt Lake City areas.

In this role, you will guide customers through the rental process, recommend vehicles and optional services, manage rental paperwork, and help coordinate daily branch activity. You will balance customer interaction with computer-based tasks and communication with our fleet team to keep operations running smoothly.

You do not need prior experience in the rental car industry to succeed. We provide training to help you learn our systems, understand rental procedures, and develop your customer service and sales skills.

What You'll Do Each Day

Customer Assistance & Rental Coordination

• Welcome customers, learn about their transportation needs, and help them navigate the rental process.
• Prepare and manage rental agreements for new reservations, vehicle returns, extensions, and vehicle exchanges.
• Explain rental policies, vehicle options, and contract details in a clear and professional manner.
• Help customers select an appropriate vehicle based on availability and their individual needs.
• Assist customers arranging transportation through insurance claims, replacement rentals, and local business accounts.
• Respond to questions, address routine concerns, and work toward practical solutions when issues arise.

Sales & Customer Solutions

• Present available vehicle upgrades and optional protection products to customers.
• Explain product features and benefits so customers can make informed choices.
• Recognize opportunities to recommend additional services that align with customer needs.
• Accurately process payments, complete rental documentation, and maintain organized records.
• Contribute to branch sales objectives while maintaining professional and customer-focused service.

Branch Support & Vehicle Management

• Record vehicle mileage, fuel levels, and visible condition details during rental pickup and return procedures.
• Coordinate with fleet staff to identify suitable vehicles and confirm availability.
• Enter and update customer, reservation, contract, and vehicle information in company software.
• Help maintain an orderly, professional branch and customer service area.
• Communicate vehicle concerns and operational needs to the appropriate team members.
• Assist with additional branch duties to support daily business activity.

Relevant experience may include retail sales, hospitality, banking, front-desk service, call centers, automotive services, or other customer-facing roles. Previous rental car experience is welcome but not necessary.

Requirements

Applicants must meet the following qualifications:

• Available for full-time employment.
• Able to work weekends as part of the regular schedule.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Possess a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record, with no more than two moving violations or at-fault accidents in the past three years.
• Able to successfully complete the required pre-employment background investigation and drug screening.
