Job summary

Peach State Truck Centers is seeking a painting technician to spray surfaces of trucks, buses, and other vehicles with protective or decorative finishes using a spray gun. The role requires preparing surfaces, matching colors, and ensuring quality finishes.

The successful candidate will have a certificate and at least two years of related painting experience, including knowledge of respirator systems, and will work with safety equipment and proper masking procedures.

Qualifications

• This position requires a one-year certificate from a fully accredited college or technical school.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Spray surfaces of trucks, buses, vans or other vehicles with protective or decorative materials using a spray gun.
• Review repair estimates for painting instructions and create a plan to perform work.
• Provide proper tools and tool storage for performing assigned tasks.
• Disassemble and re-assemble truck parts and accessories for access to painted surfaces.
• Sand, prime and prep painted surfaces for painting.
• Operate air-operated sanding and grinding equipment.
• Perform masking to ensure a quality finished product.
• Ensure surfaces are paint ready before applying paint products.
• Maintain knowledge of respirator systems and safety equipment.

Education
