Job summary

CarMax is seeking a Sr. Reconditioning Associate in Fairfield, CA to ensure every vehicle meets quality standards.

In a climate-controlled shop, you’ll perform paint preparation, masking, sanding, and refinishing surfaces, while supporting fellow technicians to deliver vehicles that exceed customer expectations. This role emphasizes precise workmanship, safe operation of tools and equipment, and adherence to CarMax EH&S policies.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, interpret, and transcribe data accurately in a fast-paced environment.
• Must complete Orientation and meet performance standards for related roles.
• Ability to use respiratory protection as required.

Responsibilities

• Perform expert body repairs, including masking, sanding, and grinding.
• Apply primer and refinish paint surfaces to meet CarMax standards.
• Remove and replace parts as needed for cosmetic and structural integrity.
• Repair plastic and substrate damage with precision and care.
• Conduct post-paint refinishing, defect correction, and maintain equipment.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to internal and external partners.
• Follow EH&S requirements and keep a clean, orderly work area.
