Martin Management Group isseeking a detail-oriented and data-driven
Vehicle Merchandiser to manage and optimize our online vehicle listings across all digital platforms. This position can be based out of
Nashville, TN or
El Monte, CA. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality photos and accurate descriptions, competitive pricing, and strategic inventory placement to drive customer engagement, leads, and sales. The ideal candidate will have experience in automotive merchandising or e-commerce, strong analytical skills, and a passion for maximizing digital performance in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Review online vehicle photos for completion and compliance, ensuring all images meet brand and quality standards
- Audit and update vehicle descriptions, and online pricing for all units to maximize appeal and accuracy
- Reprice used inventory aged over 30 days and new inventory aged over 100 days, using market data and dealership objectives
- Track and monitor merchandising across all new and used vehicle syndication platforms, identifying and resolving feed and accuracy issues
- Produce and analyze inventory reports, comparing MMR (Manheim Market Report) values versus cost, and develop action plans to address discrepancies
- Conduct regular mystery shopping via phone and internet to evaluate the customer experience and benchmark against competitors
- Lead weekly performance calls with used vehicle marketing companies to discuss results, strategies, and opportunities for improvement
- Stay up to date on industry trends, consumer preferences, and competitor activities to inform merchandising strategies
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and inventory teams to align online merchandising with broader business goals
- Ensure compliance with legal and industry standards for all online vehicle listings
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as listing views, lead generation, and conversion rates.
Additional Important Duties
- Optimize product placement and presentation on all digital platforms to maximize customer engagement and lead generation
- Analyze sales data and online traffic to identify high-performing vehicles and those needing additional promotional support
- Develop and implement promotional campaigns, special offers, and seasonal marketing initiatives to drive online interest
- Utilize advanced merchandising tools and integrations (e.g., AI description builders, 360-degree walkarounds) to enhance listing quality and customer experience
- Provide training and support to staff on best practices for online merchandising and digital customer engagement
- Coordinate with third-party vendors and syndication partners to ensure seamless inventory feeds and data integrity
Qualifications
- Experience in automotive retail, digital merchandising, or e-commerce preferred
- Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Proficiency with online inventory management tools and automotive syndication platforms, like V-Auto and Firstlook
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with automotive pricing guides (e.g., MMR, KBB, Black Book) and online marketing best practices
