Job Description

Our client is a precast company that specializes in quick-to-erect, load-bearing insulated concrete wall panels that eliminate the need for perimeter steel support. They are looking for a Vehicle Maintenance Mechanic for their facility in Aurora, IL. This is a 1st shift position, 7am-4pm, with possible overtime as well as an on-call schedule. Pay will be based on experience but can range $24-$31.25 / hour The ideal candidate for this Vehicle Maintenance role will demonstrate mechanical & electrical knowledge and repair abilities to cranes, forklifts, spotter trucks, end loaders, air compressors, etc. Responsibilities of the Vehicle Maintenance Mechanic position include : Ability to diagnose and repair various operating systems for gantry cranes, Tucker belt, forklifts, spotter trucks, end loaders, air compressors and other vehicle related equipment. Knowledge and understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and DC electrical systems. Ability to use parts / service manuals, read and understand electrical and hydraulic schematics. Completes work orders / tasks in a timely manner that are assigned by management. Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.

Job Requirements

Requirements of the Vehicle Maintenance Mechanic position include : Demonstrate mechanical and electrical knowledge and repair abilities. Ability to manage multiple complicated priorities / tasks. Exhibit strong judgment and decision-making skills. Ability to work independently. Must have personal tool set. High school / trade school diploma required. Requires a minimum of 2 years-experience in related field. The ability to possess in reading, writing and speak English. Able to complete third party training courses within supervisor’s timeframe. Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office. Basic welding abilities. Must be available for a 24 / 7 on-call schedule.
