We offer a benefits package that includes health, dental, vision, PTO, paid holidays, an impressive 401K match and more!Schedule2nd Shift: Monday-Friday, 3:00pm-11:00pmAdditional hours may be possible on a required or voluntary basis during the week or weekendAreas of AccountabilityAll areas of accountability to be delivered with GRIT - our values of Generosity, Relationships, Integrity, and TeamworkVehicle and trailer maintenance, diagnosis, and repairsEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerform maintenance and inspections on trailers and all facility vehicles including semi-trucks, yard trucks, forklifts, and skid steersComplete preventative maintenance tasks such as oil and filter changes, filling fluids, and brake and tire inspectionsRespond promptly to equipment breakdowns at the facility or on the roadPrioritize repair projects to limit transportation and/or production downtimeOperate welders, acetylene torches, air plasma cutters, fabrication equipment, and/or other tools necessary to complete repairsDocument materials used and time spent on maintenance projects; turn in records and communicate supply needs with the Complex Manager (CBI Est) / Parts Coordinator (NRWF & LP), as neededAssist in transporting vehicles to external repair shops, if neededMaintain a clean and organized workspace, as neededComply with all regulatory and company compliance requirements including safety, environmental, and food/feed safetyMaintain regular and predictable on-site attendanceSituations may arise that require employees to temporarily or permanently assume responsibility for tasks not specifically outlined in this job description. Employees may be requested to work additional hours and/or accommodate a heavier than normal workload.QualificationsPrevious work experience in automotive repair, preferred; personal experience in automotive repair, consideredPrevious welding experience and/or willingness to learn wire feed (aluminum and steel) welding while on the jobAbility and interest in becoming DOT Certified, preferred (includes pay increase)Experience operating a skid steer and forklift, preferred; pass in-house Forklift Certification once employedMechanical aptitude and proficiency in using diagnostic toolsAbility to comprehend service/operator manuals or use other resources to solve problemsAccurately follow written and/or verbal constructions; accurately read and understand signs, labels, and warningsProficient in basic math skills, measuring, and reading data trends; accurately and legibly record informationUnderstand and operate basic computer systemsAbility to attain and/or maintain a general driver’s license and pass an MVR to drive a company vehicle (not required)Work in a facility that processes [pigs (CBI Est)] [multiple species including cows, pigs, and poultry (NRWF & LP)]Must be 18 years of age or older for insurance purposesPhysical RequirementsStand up to 100% of the workdayFrequently lift up to 50 pounds from floor to waist level; occasionally lift up to 100 poundsOccasionally push and/or pull heavy objects up to 200 poundsConsistently bend at the waist and/or knees or crawlConsistently climb stairs and/or ladders or be elevated in scissors lifts up to 20 feetAbility to distinguish colors (i.e. wire colors)Tolerance of varying environmental conditions – heat, cold, and/or wet and slippery conditions
