Job description

As our Vehicle Integration Technician, you will build and integrate flight hardware — assembling, aligning, and testing rocket vehicle structures, avionics, and fluid systems with the precision that spaceflight demands. Working directly with engineering, you'll turn detailed drawings and work instructions into flight-ready hardware, using portable metrology and toolless assembly methods to hold tight tolerances at every step.

  • Vehicle Assembly, Integration & Testing: Perform hands‑on assembly, integration, and testing of rocket vehicle structures and subsystems, from individual components through the fully integrated vehicle.
  • Portable Metrology & Toolless Assembly: Use FARO Arm and FARO Tracker systems to perform portable metrology, verify component fit and alignment, and support toolless assembly of flight hardware.
  • Avionics, Fluid & Structural Integration: Integrate avionics, fluid systems, and structural components per engineering drawings, work instructions, and quality requirements.
  • Precision Drilling & Assembly: Perform precision hole drilling and structural assembly to tight tolerances, ensuring proper fit‑up and hardware integrity.
  • Cleanliness & LOX Compatibility: Apply LOX cleaning procedures and oxidizer‑system cleanliness practices to keep hardware within required cleanliness standards.
  • Documentation & Traceability: Complete build paperwork, inspection records, and non‑conformance documentation to maintain full traceability of assembled hardware.
Impacts and Outcomes
  • Directly enable test and launch schedules by delivering correctly assembled and integrated vehicle hardware on time
  • Uphold the quality, safety, and precision standards required for flight hardware, especially around LOX and oxidizer‑system cleanliness
  • Maintain accountability for build quality and traceability across every stage of assembly and integration
  • Catch and flag fit, tolerance, or process issues before they impact downstream assembly or test
  • Help resolve interface and integration issues in coordination with avionics, fluids, and structures engineering
  • Reflect sound judgment in when to proceed, pause, or elevate during hands‑on build work
What You Bring to the Team
  • Experience in vehicle, aircraft, or spacecraft assembly and integration — mechanical, structural, or avionics
  • Hands‑on experience with FARO Arm/Tracker or similar portable metrology equipment
  • Skill in precision drilling, fastening, and toolless assembly techniquesWorking knowledge of LOX cleaning and oxidizer system cleanliness requirements
  • Ability to read and work from engineering drawings, GD&T callouts, and detailed work instructions
  • Strong attention to detail and a disciplined approach to quality and safety in a hardware‑rich environment
Bonus Points
  • Experience integrating propellant, pneumatic, or hydraulic fluid systems
  • Training or certification in NDT, GD&T, or precision metrology
  • Experience in high‑growth, startup, or technically complex aerospace environments
Compensation
  • Level 1 (1–3 years): $19.23 – $36.06 / hour
  • Level 2 (3–5 years): $33.00 – $48.07 / hour
  • Level 3 (5–9 years): $45.00 – $62.50 / hour
  • Level 4 (10+ years): $50.00 – $72.12 / hour

The estimated hourly rate range for this role reflects various compensation factors. The final offer depends on factors such as work experience, education, training, key skills, and business needs.
