Job description

We are seeking an experienced Vehicle Integration Engineer to lead the integration of chassis, powertrain, electrical/electronic, and body systems into complete, production-ready vehicle platforms. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience leading full vehicle integration throughout the product development lifecycle, from architecture and packaging through prototype builds, validation, and Start of Production (SOP). This role requires strong cross-functional collaboration, systems-level thinking, and the ability to resolve complex integration, packaging, and interface issues across multiple engineering disciplines.

Responsibilities
  • Own full-vehicle integration across chassis, powertrain, electrical/electronics, and body/closures systems, ensuring all sub-systems meet packaging, geometric, and functional interface requirements.
  • Lead system-level integration reviews and interface management, identifying and resolving conflicts between sub-system designs before they impact downstream build or validation.
  • Translate vehicle-level performance, durability, and regulatory targets into integration requirements, and validate that sub-system designs collectively meet those targets.
  • Partner closely with offshore engineering teams on detailed design coordination, ensuring integration intent, tolerances, and interface specifications are clearly communicated and correctly implemented to customer requirements.
  • Drive resolution of build, fit, and functional issues during prototype and pilot builds, working hands-on with test and validation teams to root-cause integration-level failures.
  • Manage and maintain master Interface Control Documents (ICDs), digital mock-up/packaging studies, and integration checklists throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Participate in and support design reviews, DFMEA, and tolerance stack-up analysis from a full-vehicle integration perspective.
  • Coordinate with sourcing, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure integration decisions are manufacturable and serviceable at production volume.
  • Support program timeline adherence by identifying integration-level risks early and collaborating with program management teams on mitigation and recovery plans.
  • Contribute to lessons learned and best-practice documentation to improve integration processes for future vehicle programs.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 8–12 years of experience in automotive, powersports, or off-highway vehicle engineering, with substantial exposure to both on-road and off-road vehicle platforms.
  • Minimum of two complete vehicle programs taken through full integration, from architecture and packaging through build, validation, and Start of Production (SOP).
  • Strong working knowledge across multiple vehicle domains, including chassis, powertrain, electrical/electronics, and body/closures, with the ability to evaluate cross-system interface impacts.
  • Hands-on experience supporting prototype, pilot, or production build events and resolving fit, function, and integration issues in real time.
  • Practical experience with packaging/digital mock-up tools, tolerance stack-up analysis, and Interface Control Documentation (ICDs).
  • Experience collaborating effectively with global or offshore engineering teams in distributed development environments.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, working with design, validation, manufacturing, quality, sourcing, and program management teams.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical integration trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with CAD/CAE tools commonly used in vehicle packaging and integration, such as CATIA, Creo, NX, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of vehicle-level regulatory and homologation requirements for on-road and/or off-road vehicles.
  • Familiarity with systems engineering methodologies, including requirements management, V-model, or similar integration processes.
