Job description

This is a temporary position and there are no leave or retirement benefits offered with this position. Temporary employees who work an annual average of 30 or more hours per week may be eligible for health insurance coverage under the High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP). This temporary position is located in Salisbury, NC - Rowan County.

Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $26.25 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).

This temporary position will be assigned to the Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services. This position is located at 160 Circle M Drive., Salisbury, NC 28147.

The Food Distribution Division contributes to the nutritional well-being of the citizens of North Carolina by distributing USDA Foods to eligible recipients agencies. Food Distribution administers six food programs for USDA.

NOTE: Selected applicant will be subject to a criminal background check, driver's license check, reference check, and job ready services fit test. Pre-employment mandatory drug testing is required.

NOTE: Qualified applicants must meet and CLEARLY reflect on their application training and experience and all knowledge, skills, abilities, and any experience or competencies specified in the posting and/or supplemental question(s) to be considered.   • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.

High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional Requirements Must possess necessary licenses or certifications to operate assigned types of vehicles or equipment.

Management Preference: Ability to use a tablet or computer; knowledge of refrigerated trailers (can get on the job training).
