Job summary

Eaton is seeking a Garage Services Technician at its Marshall, MI facility to maintain, modify, inspect, troubleshoot, and support a diverse fleet of test vehicles and equipment used in research and development.

The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, automotive electrical knowledge, and hands-on experience with diagnostics, data acquisition, and instrumentation installation in a fast-paced, high-stress environment. Salary ranges between $69,000 and $101,000 annually.

Qualifications

Associates Degree in Automotive Technology, Engineering Technology or related field from an accredited institution.
ASE Certified mechanic/equivalent certification OR a minimum of 4 years’ experience in technical/lab/motorsports setting.
Ability to diagnose vehicle systems and mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance, inspections and troubleshooting on test vehicles and support equipment.
Set up test bench and vehicles for vehicle dynamics test activities including hardware build and installation.
Document work with test setup sheets, calibration records, photos, drawings and wiring diagrams.
Operate diagnostics tools, scan equipment and test instrumentation to resolve issues.
Maintain and modify a diverse fleet of test vehicles and equipment used in R&D activities.
