Job summary

TAG Auto Group is seeking a Shop Assistant to support the operations team by detailing and thoroughly inspecting repaired vehicles before customer release. The role also helps maintain the shop location and organize equipment and tools.

The position requires a high school diploma, a valid driver's license, and strong verbal communication and mechanical skills. Prior automotive experience is preferred but not mandatory; the role suits someone who can work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Driver’s License and good driving record.
• Prior automotive industry experience preferred but not required.
• Excellent verbal communication and mechanical skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to be flexible with task assignments and respond to shop needs.
• Ability to work independently but as part of a team to service customers and vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough detailing and cleaning of all vehicles prior to delivery.
• Visually inspect repaired areas for defects; notify management if issues are found.
• Assist in general maintenance of shop location and outdoor grounds.
• Inspect goods to ensure quality and safety standards.
• Ensure test equipment is calibrated and functioning correctly.
• Follow safety equipment requirements and participate in monthly safety meetings.
• Maintain organization of tools and work area; return items to designated places.
• Identify possible improvements in quality control processes.
• Perform cleaning tasks (mopping, dusting, sweeping) and restock restrooms.
