Description

ENTITY: Mt. Olivet Cemetery was consecrated in 1892 and is located on the western side of the Denver Metro area in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. It is the largest cemetery in Colorado containing 392 acres. St. Simeon Cemetery was consecrated in 2004 and is located on the eastern side of the Denver Metro area in Aurora, Colorado. The Mortuary has two locations. The first is located on the grounds of Mt. Olivet Cemetery and was opened in 1981. The second was the recent acquisition of Caldwell-Kirk Mortuary. These entities serve the Catholic Community of the Denver metro area and its various parishes, missions, and apostolates and other members of the public regardless of their religious affiliation.

THE POSITION: This position is responsible for keeping all vehicles utilized by our mortuary and cemetery clean with a special emphasis on cleaning those vehicles utilized during services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • The primary duty involves keeping service-connected vehicles (limousines, coaches, and vans) perfectly clean for use during funeral services,
  • Secondary duties require the cleaning of other vehicles used by the mortuary and cemetery,
  • Where time permits, the Vehicle Detailer may be tasked with other cleaning related duties within the confines of the cemetery at the direction of the Operations Manager,
  • Promote a safe work environment by being aware of and practicing universal precautions and adopting general principles of safe conduct.
Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Possess a valid driver's license.

  • Have a positive and supportive attitude toward the Catholic Church, her teachings, and her work,
  • Refrain from public promotion or approval of any conduct or lifestyle that would reflect discredit or disgrace on, or cause scandal in relationship to, the Archdiocese of Denver, or considered to be in contradiction with the Catholic doctrine or morals;

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be able to stand, kneel and/or walk for long periods of time,
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule and overtime (as necessary),
  • Ability to meet physical demands of pulling or pushing 50 pounds,
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of lifting 75 pounds,
  • Physical ability to sustain movements; especially of the fingers, wrists, hands or arms.
