Job summary

KPIT is seeking a Vehicle Calibration Engineer focused on software integration in Mount Vernon, VA. The role emphasizes calibration, verification, and in-vehicle testing of heavy- and medium-duty vehicle functions for North America.

You will work with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality calibration for diverse powertrains. The ideal candidate has a technical BS (MS preferred), experience with vehicle data and automotive protocols, and strong scripting/analysis skills.

Qualifications

• BS in appropriate technical field.
• CDL or ability to obtain CDL.
• Knowledge of vehicle and powertrain management systems.
• Knowledge of J1939, UDS, XCP, Ethernet, CAN-bus, LIN-bus.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Effective communication of technical findings.
• Self-directed with strong analysis and judgment.
• Organized with workload management and adaptability.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and enter/exit truck cabins.
• Travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Actively participates in calibration, verification, release, and implementation of software.
• Integrate, calibrate, and optimize vehicle performance via in-vehicle testing.
• Develop and execute test plans for Requirements verification and defects.
• Provide technical feedback on proposed product changes.
• Support running change software releases in calibration/verification.
• Collaborate with Control, Software, and Validation teams for testing and defect resolution.
• Contribute to on-time software releases and calibration quality standards.
• Stay current on software functionality and product requirements.
