Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Controls Engineering.
  • Experience in automotive calibration and validation, preferably involving electric or electrified powertrains.
  • Strong understanding of EV systems, including BMS, Charging, Thermal management, Torque and Drive Controls.
  • Experience with vehicle electrical architectures and CAN/LIN networks.
  • Hands-on model-based development and embedded control systems experience.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional and global engineering environments.
  • Professional proficiency in English (written and verbal).

Responsibilities

  • Perform calibration and validation activities for electric powertrain systems at both component and vehicle levels.
  • Own and deliver calibration releases for assigned vehicle features and functions, ensuring quality and timing objectives are achieved.
  • Improve calibration maturity and readiness throughout the product development cycle up to SOP.
  • Analyze test results and recommend calibration updates, control improvements, and performance optimizations.
  • Support debugging of embedded control software and contribute to improvements in control algorithms and Simulink models.
  • Support creation and execution of vehicle and component-level validation plans.
  • Verify proper interaction between powertrain controllers and vehicle systems, including HMI functionality.
  • Flash and maintain vehicle control units with the latest software releases.
  • Participate in vehicle testing, issue investigation, and performance assessments.
  • Lead cross-functional reviews and coordinate engineering discussions across teams.

Role Overview

We are seeking an EV Powertrain Calibration Engineer to support the calibration, validation, and integration of electrified powertrain systems at both vehicle and component levels. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality calibrations, supporting vehicle testing activities, analyzing system performance, and collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure successful program execution through Start of Production (SOP).

This role requires strong expertise in electric vehicle systems, vehicle communication networks, calibration tools, embedded controls, and vehicle-level validation.

Key Responsibilities
Calibration & Controls Development
  • Perform calibration and validation activities for electric powertrain systems at both component and vehicle levels.
  • Own and deliver calibration releases for assigned vehicle features and functions, ensuring quality and timing objectives are achieved.
  • Improve calibration maturity and readiness throughout the product development cycle up to SOP.
  • Analyze test results and recommend calibration updates, control improvements, and performance optimizations.
  • Support debugging of embedded control software and contribute to improvements in control algorithms and Simulink models.
Vehicle Integration & Validation
  • Support creation and execution of vehicle and component-level validation plans.
  • Ensure proper implementation and functionality of CAN and LIN communication networks.
  • Verify correct interaction between powertrain controllers and vehicle systems, including HMI functionality and user-facing features.
  • Flash and maintain vehicle control units with the latest software releases.
  • Participate in vehicle testing, issue investigation, and performance assessments.
Testing & Problem Resolution
  • Analyze vehicle and bench test results against design and performance requirements.
  • Investigate and resolve technical issues related to controls, calibration, communications, and system integration.
  • Track open issues and coordinate resolution activities with suppliers and internal engineering teams.
  • Communicate testing concerns, failures, delays, and development risks through established reporting processes.
  • Review laboratory test results and prepare final engineering test reports.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with controls engineers, validation teams, suppliers, and program stakeholders.
  • Lead technical discussions and coordinate engineering reviews related to calibration and validation activities.
  • Support implementation and utilization of powertrain test benches aligned with project objectives.
  • Provide technical feedback and recommendations throughout the development process.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in automotive calibration and validation, preferably involving electric or electrified powertrains.
  • Strong understanding of EV systems, including:
  • Battery Management Systems (BMS)
  • Charging Systems
  • Thermal Management
  • Torque and Drive Controls
  • Experience with vehicle electrical architectures and CAN/LIN communication networks.
  • Hands-on experience with model-based development methodologies and embedded control systems.
  • Strong understanding of control systems and calibration methodologies.
  • Experience performing vehicle-level testing, validation, and feature calibration.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional and global engineering environments.
  • Professional proficiency in English (written and verbal).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting vehicle programs through Start of Production (SOP).
  • Hands-on experience with prototype vehicles, hardware development, or vehicle integration activities.
  • Familiarity with OEM development processes, tools, and vehicle platforms.
  • Experience supporting supplier technical reviews and issue resolution.
