Job summary

Altec is hiring in Duluth, MN for an assembler/install technician role. You will install unit vehicle components and accessories, read schematics and work orders to understand customer requirements, and test installed components in a production cell environment.

You will use basic hand tools, learn and operate all equipment, perform rework as required, and support APS initiatives while training colleagues. A steady work ethic and adherence to safety policies are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Be able to provide a high school diploma/GED.
• Ability to read, write and comprehend.
• Basic computer usage knowledge.
• Ability to read tape measures, blueprints, and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Install unit vehicle components and accessories.
• Read and interpret schematics and work orders to understand customer requirements.
• Test installed components.
• Use basic hand tools such as tape measure and specialty equipment.
• Learn and operate all equipment within the work area (cell).
• Perform rework as required.
• Support APS initiatives and participate in RCI events.
• Move to other work areas to support production needs (cross-train).
• Assist and train new/current associates.
• Follow safety, environmental and quality policies, PPE usage.
• Maintain work area and shop tools/equipment.
• Adhere to attendance policy.
