Job summary

CarMax Oxnard is seeking a Cosmetic Reconditioning Associate II to perform cosmetic inspections, final quality checks, and advanced reconditioning tasks such as paint touch-up, wet sanding, and buffing. You’ll help ensure every vehicle meets CarMax quality and appearance standards for customer confidence.

Responsibilities include executing standardized processes, identifying defects, supporting auction prep, and delivering strong customer service.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, interpret, and record data accurately for inventory and quality control.
• Capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.
• Willingness to lift up to 50 lbs and perform manual tasks for extended periods.
• Good communication skills with customers and team members.
• Comfort with indoor/outdoor work and varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Execute standardized cosmetic reconditioning processes to maintain efficiency and quality.
• Perform advanced cosmetic repairs including paint touch-up, wet sanding, and buffing.
• Complete cosmetic and final quality inspections to ensure customer-ready vehicles.
• Identify defects and determine repair methods for optimal results.
• Support auction preparation and assist with vehicle movement on and off the lot.
• Deliver excellent customer service and collaborate with team members to meet goals.
• Follow CarMax EH&S requirements and maintain a clean, orderly work area.
