Job summary

UCP+ Fresno is seeking a Vehicle/Facility Maintenance Technician to perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs for facilities and vehicles. You will identify maintenance and safety concerns and coordinate with the Operations/MIS Director and outside vendors when specialized work is needed.

Regular duties include inspecting facilities, performing plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry and painting tasks, and maintaining service records.

Qualifications

• Experience in general building maintenance (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting).
• Ability to inspect vehicles and perform minor repairs; wheelchair lifts preferred.
• Valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Job Location: UCP + The Collective - Fresno, CA 93720-0233, Position Type: Full Time, Salary Range: $30.00 - $35.00 Hourly, The Vehicle/Facility Maintenance Technician performs routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs for UCP+ facilities and vehicles. The position identifies maintenance and safety concerns, completes work within their training and qualifications, and coordinates with the Operations/MIS Director and outside vendors when specialized work is needed. This work helps maintain safe, accessible facilities and reliable vehicles for staff and the people served by UCP+.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Inspect UCP+ facilities regularly to identify needed repairs, maintenance concerns, and potential safety hazards. Report concerns to the Operations/MIS Director and help prioritize needed work.
• Perform routine facility maintenance and repairs, including general plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and upkeep, as appropriate to the employee’s training and qualifications.
• Perform assigned vehicle inspections, wheelchair lift maintenance and repairs, and minor vehicle repairs. Drive agency vehicles as needed to inspect and maintain the transportation fleet, respond to vehicle maintenance requests and urgent issues, and travel to other agency locations. Report concerns that require specialized service.
• Respond to maintenance requests and urgent issues. Coordinate with staff, vendors, and contractors to address issues in a timely manner.
• Identify facility accessibility concerns and assist with approved repairs or modifications. Bring concerns requiring further review to the Operations/MIS Director.
• Obtain quotes and coordinate with outside vendors and contractors for work that requires specialized services. Monitor work performed on-site and report any concerns.
• Maintain records of work orders, inspections, repairs, maintenance activities, and equipment inventory.
• Assist the Operations/MIS Director with tracking maintenance expenses and identifying cost-effective repair and service options.
• Follow applicable safety procedures and report facility or vehicle conditions that may affect the safety of staff or individuals served.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of general building maintenance and repairs, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and painting.
• Ability to perform or assist with assigned vehicle inspections and minor repairs. Experience with wheelchair lifts is preferred.
• Demonstrated plumbing skills are preferred.
• Ability to identify maintenance concerns, prioritize work, and determine when specialized service is needed.
• Ability to keep accurate maintenance and inspection records.
• Ability to communicate and work effectively with staff, vendors, contractors, and individuals with disabilities.
• Valid California driver’s license, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation for travel to agency locations.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

This position involves standing and walking for extended periods; bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and using hands to operate tools and equipment. The employee may need to climb ladders; lift and carry up to 50 pounds; and push or pull tools, equipment, and materials. Work may take place indoors or outdoors and may involve exposure to weather, noise, dust, and conditions commonly associated with facility and vehicle maintenance.

Work Schedule and Travel

This is a full-time position with a regular Monday through Friday schedule. Some evening or weekend work may be required to respond to maintenance needs. Travel to other UCP+ locations may be required.

Supervision

The Vehicle/Facility Maintenance Technician reports to the Operations/MIS Director. The position does not supervise UCP+ employees but may coordinate and monitor work performed by outside vendors and contractors.
