Description:

Enjoy working outdoors? Would you like to gain some experience in Forestry? ACRT Pacific is currently seeking energetic entry-level professionals who enjoy working outdoors. This is a full-time opportunity for individuals looking to gain Forestry experience. Our Vegetation Management Inspectors are ideal for professionals with backgrounds in forestry, horticulture, arboriculture, biology, environmental studies, conservation, or related fields, seeking field experience.

Contingent upon client approval, our Vegetation Management Inspectors patrol for hazard trees, perform identification, inspection, and evaluation of trees and brush along utility lines. They assist in submitting inspection results with recommendations, plan, direct, and coordinate activities of tree clearance crews, discuss access issues, and serve as liaisons between clients, crews, and customers.

Note: This position is safety-sensitive. Active TRAQ Certification is required.

Compensation:

May include a sign-on bonus and retention incentives totaling $3,000.

Candidates must reside within 50 miles of Redding, CA, or be willing to relocate.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Perform circuit patrols following VM plans and standards.
  2. Identify required tree work along PG&E rights-of-way and document inspections.
  3. Understand scope and standards of inspections.
  4. Notify property owners and obtain necessary permissions for tree work.
  5. Act as VM contact for new and re-construction work.
  6. Perform work verification inspections and document findings.
  7. Investigate outages related to trees and attend outage meetings.
  8. Manage VM tags, track work, and notify customers for non-routine locations.
  9. Support emergency responses and dispatch tree crews as needed.
  10. Complete tasks independently and support vegetation project oversight.
  11. Participate in safety meetings and act as a customer relations representative.
  12. Coordinate with contractors, communities, agencies, and stakeholders.
  13. Ensure compliance with permits and environmental regulations.
  14. Proficiently use electronic devices for documentation and reporting.
Equipment, Environmental, and Safety Requirements:
  • Operate vehicles and forestry equipment.
  • Walk on uneven ground and work in various weather conditions.
  • Use safety gear such as hard hats, vests, and glasses.
Qualifications:

Must meet:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Class C driver’s license
  • Active TRAQ Certification

Residency within 50 miles of Redding, CA is required.

Position Details:

Base pay: $39.27/hour plus incentives

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Bargaining Role: Yes

Additional Compensation: Sign-on bonus, incentives, and daily subsistence for overtime.
