Description:

Enjoy working outdoors? Would you like to gain some experience in Forestry? ACRT Pacific is currently seeking energetic entry-level professionals who enjoy working outdoors. This is a full-time opportunity for individuals with an educational background in forestry, horticulture, arboriculture, biology, environmental studies, conservation, or related disciplines to gain experience in these fields.

Contingent upon client approval, our Vegetation Management Inspectors patrol for hazard trees, perform identification, inspection, and evaluation of trees and brush along utility lines. They also assist in submitting inspection results to clients with recommendations, plan, direct, and coordinate activities of tree clearance crews, discuss and negotiate access issues, and serve as liaisons between clients, crews, and customers.

Note:

This position is designated as a safety-sensitive role.

Job Requirements:

• Active TRAQ Certification required.
• Active ISA Arborist certification required.
• Candidates must reside within 50 miles of Chico, CA.

Compensation:

May include a sign-on bonus and retention incentives totaling $3,000.

Lodging Assistance:

• Hotel accommodations will be provided for out-of-state or remote applicants.
• Lodging will be covered during the project or until informed otherwise.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Perform circuit patrols following VM plans and standards.
• Identify and prescribe tree work, document inspections, and ensure standards are met.
• Notify property owners and obtain necessary permissions for tree work.
• Support emergency responses and coordinate with contractors and stakeholders.
• Complete tasks independently, support vegetation project oversight, and participate in safety meetings.
• Act as a customer relations representative and ensure regulatory compliance.

Equipment, Environmental, and Safety Requirements:

• Operate vehicles and forestry equipment, walk on uneven ground, and work in varied environmental conditions.
• Use safety gear and equipment like hard hats, vests, glasses, and measurement tools.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid Class C driver’s license.
• One year of utility vegetation management experience.
• Active TRAQ and ISA Arborist certifications.

Skills:

• Knowledge of local trees, mapping, and software systems.
• Ability to work in rugged terrain, follow maps, and communicate effectively.
• Dependability, adaptability, and a positive attitude.

Position Details:

Title: Vegetation Management Inspector (1 Year) - TRAQ

Reports to: Operations Manager

Base Salary: $41.70/hour, with additional benefits and incentives.
