Bayer AG in California seeks a Vegetable Seed Intern to support manufacturing and field activities across Woodland, Williams, and San Juan Bautista. You will learn fundamentals, build stakeholder relationships, and contribute to continuous improvement in reliability, quality, and cost.

You will help with documentation, SAP reporting, data validation, and coordination with cross‑functional teams while gaining exposure to global operations and sustainability initiatives.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and transportation to work.
• Able to work well in a team and communicate clearly with all levels.

Responsibilities

• Support and learn fundamentals of vegetable seed manufacturing with stakeholders.
• Assist documentation of operational processes in Manufacturing Excellence.
• Work with onsite teams to execute projects for seeds processing.
• Support field activities: stock seed shipments, reconciliation, trials, and harvesting.
• Complete data validation and SAP reports for global/ regional needs.
• Support Quality and HSE programs to drive metrics and improvements.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to identify and implement improvements.
• Engage with crop specialists and production researchers to boost reliability/cost.
• Contribute to global/ regional initiatives and standardization projects.

The location of these positions are Woodland, CA; Williams, CA; and San Juan Bautista, CA.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role, Vegetable Seed Intern, are to:

• Support and learn the fundamentals of vegetable seed manufacturing while building rapport with regional and global stakeholders;
• Assist with documentation of operational processes within the Manufacturing Excellence function;
• Work with onsite Manufacturing teams to execute key projects and deliverables in the processing of vegetable seeds;
• Support field activities including timely stock seed (SS) shipment to growers and SS reconciliation, trial coordination, rouging, disease and weed scouting, pollination, harvesting, threshing, drying, and delivery from growers to the processing facility;
• Complete data validation and SAP reports to support global and regional operations needs, including equipment run time, sustainability data, and plant scheduling needs;
• Support Quality and HSE functions to drive key programs and targeted metrics;
• Collaborate with cross-functional regional and global teams to identify opportunities for improvement and work with the team to implement solutions;
• Cooperate with Crop Specialists, Field Quality, and Production Research personnel to identify, develop, and implement projects to improve reliability, quality, and/or cost;
• Contribute to business initiatives, standardization, and optimization projects with global and regional teams.

WHO YOU ARE

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program;
• Valid driver’s license and personal transportation to and from the worksite, as most work locations are situated in areas with limited or no public transportation;
• Ability to build relationships and work effectively in a team-based environment;
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with all levels of the organization;
• Self-motivated with a strong results orientation and a high level of ownership;
• Demonstrated ability to manage deadlines while maintaining strong attention to detail;
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to organize thoughts, data, and activities effectively;
• Excellent computer skills related to data acquisition and record keeping;
• Demonstrated leadership potential, with the ability to take initiative and contribute to team success;

Employees can expect to be paid a salary of approximately between $22.75 to $47.75. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits may include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc (if relevant). This salary (or salary range) is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
