Job summary

Southall is seeking a Vegetable Manager in Franklin, TN to oversee vegetable and cut flower production, aligning with farm goals and culinary needs. You will lead the cultivation team, coordinate with adjacent managers, and drive safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement in crop systems and ecological health.

Responsibilities include planning production, supervising field staff, and ensuring smooth handoff to postharvest.

Qualifications

• Experience with crop planning, planting, and seasonal production.
• Knowledge of maintaining healthy, productive fields and crops throughout the growing season.
• Experience with harvesting crops efficiently while maintaining quality and minimizing waste.
• Ability to safely operate tractors, farm machinery, and other agricultural equipment.
• Knowledge of compost production and its application to support soil health and fertility.
• Understanding of plant nutrition, soil health, and sustainable growing practices.
• Experience with irrigation systems and practices to support crop health and production; greenhouse/hoophouse experience.
• Knowledge of organic and biodynamic farming practices and principles.

Responsibilities

• Manage production of vegetables and cut flowers to meet targets set with Culinary Team, Flower Manager and Farm Manager.
• Lead and supervise Farm Cultivation Team Members when assigned, ensuring safety and high standards.
• Coordinate with Postharvest Manager for smooth transfer of product to processing, storage and delivery.
• Maintain production, storage and working spaces to high standard, driving ecological health and guest experience.
• Create, train, enforce and improve standardized crop production processes.
• Ensure tools, supplies and materials for crop production are available and organized.
• Maintain detailed records of operations and outcomes and share as needed.
• Perform additional duties and projects as assigned by Southall Leadership.
