Overview:

The virtual electroencephalography registered nurse (vEEG RN) works with a multidisciplinary team to support evidence-based practice with the use of established EEG patient care via the telemedicine platform. Ensures care for the EEG patient throughout the continuum, by providing quality, best practices support and data collection for EEG patients across multiple hospitals. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.


Qualifications:

  • Experience: 2 years recent experience in Direct patient care experience of Neurology patients in an acute care setting, Adult Med/Surg, or Emergency Department experience required. Virtual nursing experience preferred.
  • Required Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Associate's Degree in Nursing.
  • Preferred Education: BSN.
  • Licenses: State Licensure in the state of practice, current RN Temporary Permit/RN. Multi-state licensure required within 6 months of hire.
  • Certifications: BLS, and Seizure and Epilepsy Healthcare Professional Certificate within 1 year of hire required.
  • Other: Excellent communication skills and able to collaborate effectively within a team environment. Must have the ability to independently practice and prioritize demands in an ever-changing, dynamic environment. Must demonstrate understanding of pathophysiology and rationale of special therapies of the seizure patient.
