As a Presales System Engineer for Kasten by Veeam, you will be responsible for delivering and exceeding regional revenue goals by driving innovative technical programs and managing account-level and regional activities. You will evangelize, position, and architect Kasten K10's leading cloud data management platform across your region, working with accounts including Global 10, Fortune 1000, and large enterprises across various verticals.

Responsibilities

  1. Demonstrate technical leadership and expertise on Kasten's Data Management Platform, Cloud Architectures, and competitive tools.
  2. Support pre-sales activities in your market by building technical relationships with customers, channel partners, and the ecosystem.
  3. Act as a technical expert and consultant to develop and propose solutions that meet customer requirements.
  4. Deliver technical and sales presentations to technical staff, senior management, and industry groups.
  5. Build relationships with the account team, partners, and customers to support sales objectives, leveraging resources as needed.
  6. Lead technical sales calls.
  7. Qualify sales opportunities based on customer technical requirements, competition, decision-making process, and funding.
  8. Support activities such as events, webinars, and user groups.

Requirements

  1. 5+ years of presales experience.
  2. 2+ years of experience selling Kubernetes-based products.
  3. Ability to provide technical recommendations and thought leadership.
  4. Experience in sales engineering, preferably in software sales, DevOps, or Data Protection.
  5. Energetic with a hands-on, proactive approach; motivated to own success.
  6. Solid knowledge of cloud data architectures, Kubernetes, and Data Protection (backup, recovery).
  7. Entrepreneurial mindset, resourceful, and committed.
  8. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple demos and follow-ups daily.
  9. Strong business acumen, experience working with CxO-level personnel.
  10. Willingness to travel up to 50%.

Desirable Skills & Knowledge

  1. Experience with Kubernetes management solutions such as OpenShift, PKS, Rancher, GKE, EKS.
  2. Kubernetes certifications (CKA, CKAD).
  3. Experience building Helm charts.
  4. Knowledge of open source logging (FluentD) and monitoring (Prometheus).
  5. Development experience with Go, Git, GitHub, Travis, etc.

The salary range posted is On Target Earnings (OTE), including base and variable pay. Veeam considers candidate expectations, experience, education, scope, and market conditions when making offers.

United States Pay Range: $171,900—$245,500 USD
