Job summary

The successful candidate will work under supervision of the PI and senior staff, contributing to SOPs, data management, and research documentation in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a biological, molecular, or public health research laboratory.
• Strong organizational, time-management, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced research environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with laboratory and field research activities related to disease vectors and vector-borne diseases.
• Maintain laboratory operations, including ordering supplies, inventory management, equipment maintenance, organization, and compliance with laboratory safety procedures.
• Prepare, update, and distribute laboratory protocols, SOPs, project reports, and research documentation.
• Perform molecular, genetic, entomological, and epidemiological laboratory procedures.
• Support mosquito vector and pathogen identification using standard laboratory methods.
• Analyze, organize, and maintain research data and records.
• Train and assist students, staff, and visiting researchers in laboratory techniques and protocols.
• Participate in laboratory meetings and contribute to research presentations, reports, and publications as appropriate.
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of the laboratory’s research mission.
