  • Assistant Specialists – appointees to the Assistant rank should possess a master’s degree (or equivalent degree), or five years of experience demonstrating expertise in the relevant specialization.
  • Associate Specialists – appointees to the Associate rank should possess a master’s degree (or equivalent degree) or five to ten years of experience demonstrating expertise in the relevant specialization.
  • Full Specialists – appointees to the Full rank should possess a terminal degree (or equivalent degree) or ten or more years of experience demonstrating expertise in the relevant specialization.

Position Description

Openings are anticipated between July 1, 2026 & June 30, 2027 in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, University of California, Irvine. Initial appointments are for one year and renewal is based on available support.

  • La Spada: Mechanisms of Neurodegenerative Disease / Neurotherapeutics
  • Lipkova: Artificial Intelligence in Medicine. Jana Lipkova - Jana's Lab - AI for Pathology
  • Rose: Neuronal Diversity, Omics, and Imaging in Brain Development and Disease
  • Park: Breast cancer, epigenetics, environmental exposures, and biomarkers
  • Rahmatpanah: Prostate cancer disparities, Ovarian cancer, Epigenetics, Human endogenous retroviruses in cancer
  • Mkhikian: Glycoimmunology in health, autoimmunity, and immune senescence; glycoproteomics and cross-linking mass spectrometry
  • Shah: Computational Medicine
  • Qavi: Conventional diagnostics through new optical technologies
