We’re looking for a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Engineer who’s passionate about solving tough challenges, driving innovation, and making a difference every single day. Your Role and How You’ll Contribute

As a VDI Engineer, you'll take the lead in designing, configuring, and maintaining a secure, high-performance virtual desktop environment used across the globe. You’ll act as the subject matter expert for resolving complex performance issues, while contributing to long-term improvements in system architecture, automation, and user experience.

This role is ideal for a proactive, detail-oriented engineer who thrives in dynamic environments and takes pride in delivering operational excellence. You'll be at the center of innovation—collaborating with cross-functional teams and applying your technical expertise to some of the nation’s most critical missions.

What You'll Do

Lead architecture, design, and Tier 3/4 support of enterprise-scale VDI systems

Troubleshoot and resolve complex performance issues across Citrix environments

Optimize desktop interoperability and coordinate across VDI platforms and stakeholders

Support endpoint and desktop delivery issues for remote and on-site users

Guide system improvements through automation, scripting, and modern engineering practices

Drive technical decisions through trade studies and performance analysis

Maintain strong knowledge of Citrix VDI technologies and integrate with adjacent systems

Collaborate in a fast-paced environment while maintaining security and performance standards

What You Bring

Required Qualifications:

U.S. Citizenship and active TS/SCI clearance

5+ years of experience (or equivalent education) in virtual desktop engineering

Expertise in Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops (v7.15+), PVS, MCS, and Citrix Cloud CVAD

Experience with Citrix App Layering, WEM, and Liquidware Profile Unity

Proficiency in Citrix NetScaler / ADC / VPX and desktop virtualization (Hyper-V, VMware)

Proven progression from Admin to Senior Engineer roles

Strong communication and documentation skills

Ability to thrive in both independent and team environments

Preferred Qualifications:

Windows Server clustering and Active Directory/GPO experience

Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform)

Experience with VMWare vCenter 6.7 and System Center Virtual Machine Manager

Support knowledge of profile management, software provisioning, and automation tools

  • Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position. The salary range for this position is typically $145k-155k. This does not guarantee a specific salary as compensation is based upon multiple factors such as education, experience, certifications, and other requirements, and may fall outside of the above-stated range.
