The role:

As a VDC Manager with a specialty in the mechanical and/or piping areas, you'll have the opportunity to apply your technical and engineering skills across a multitude of projects, and contribute to world-class thought leadership around BIM and VDC. You will manage a small team of VDC Engineers.

This includes ensuring that plumbing and/or mechanical projects for trade contractors incorporate BIM processes from schematic design through construction. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and has a deep passion for developing and implementing innovative BIM processes across dispersed teams.

In this role you will:

• Lead the global project management of VDC/BIM projects, planning and executing independently
• Manage a team of 2-3 VDC Engineers and BIM specialists
• Serve as a subject matter expert in plumbing and/or mechanical areas
• Interface with clients, cultivating relationships, presenting work, and conducting meetings
• Respond to RFIs and manage the RFI process
• Coordinate and lead global project teams to complete client work
• Create and manage complex design projects within Revit, Navisworks, Procore, BIM360, and other programs
• Participate in and lead training efforts to foster professional development
• Expand knowledge by getting involved in projects outside of plumbing and mechanical focus

Apply if you have:

• A bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or a related discipline
• 5+ years of experience in BIM and VDC implementation, training, and support
• Managed 2-3 VDC Engineers or detailers
• Experience working for a plumbing and/or mechanical trade contractor
• Experience in BIM updates, clash detection, and stakeholder communication
• Proficiency in modeling, drafting, and reading mechanical and plumbing plans
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, self-directed environment
• Strong organizational and communication skills for managing multiple projects
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts
• A proactive, flexible attitude and willingness to work some early/late hours for international coordination
• Experience leading remote online meetings and training sessions
• Experience with AutoCAD MEP and/or Fabrication CADMEP

• Field construction experience
• Experience in project administration: invoicing, budgeting, scheduling, forecasting
• Knowledge of primary building systems and construction sequencing
• Experience managing BIM and VDC across project lifecycles
• Understanding of the real-world constructability of modeled systems

• Proven ability to work remotely with teams
• Background in providing professional client services

Compensation and benefits:

• Salary range of $100,000 to $125,000, with potential bonuses. Actual offers depend on skills, qualifications, location, and experience.
