Sargent Electric Company is seeking an experienced VDC Manager to lead digital construction efforts on complex electrical projects in Pittsburgh. You will oversee virtual design, modeling strategies, and coordination workflows to drive efficiency from preconstruction through installation.

The role emphasizes leadership, technical depth, and collaboration with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to deliver clash-free models and optimized project outcomes.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of VDC or BIM management on large-scale projects.
• Strong experience creating and managing 3D models and installation documentation.
• Knowledge of construction sequencing, constructability reviews, and clash detection.
• Excellent communication skills across project teams and stakeholders.
• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work effectively within tight project schedules.

Responsibilities

• Champion safety by integrating standards into modeling practices and deliverables.
• Lead development and execution of project-specific VDC strategies aligned to schedules.
• Mentor internal and subcontracted VDC resources to ensure quality.
• Create and oversee detailed 3D electrical models and coordinated trade models.
• Drive coordination with architects, engineers, contractors to resolve clashes.
• Serve as a technical resource for leadership, PMs, estimators, and clients.
• Support preconstruction with conceptual layouts, sketches, and quantity inputs.
• Coordinate modeled content to support fabrication drawings and goals.
• Participate in coordination meetings and maintain stakeholder communication.
• Help develop and refine modeling standards, workflows, and software use.
• Evaluate project performance and suggest improvements for digital construction.
• Maintain knowledge of NEC and industry best practices; travel as approved.
