Job summary

The Weitz Company is seeking a VDC Manager for a data center project in San Marcos, TX. You will apply VDC technologies on site with project teams and lead the use of drones, robotics, laser scanning and reality capture to inform design and construction.

You will manage 3D/4D/5D models, coordinate with preconstruction and field operations, mentor staff, and drive continuous improvement in workflows, standards and vendor negotiations while representing the company’s leadership in the industry.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an industry-related field required.
• Minimum five years in architectural services, construction, or manufacturing with at least two years in VDC/BIM management.
• LEAN principles experience desirable.
• OSHA 10 or 30 preferred or willing to obtain on hire.
• Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook; strong understanding of VDC software and hardware.

Responsibilities

• Apply VDC technologies on site with project teams.
• Provide technical expertise on drones, robotics, laser scanning and reality capture.
• Leverage 3D/4D/5D content to support design, management, and implementation of VDC systems.
• Ensure workflows are streamlined between preconstruction and field operations.
• Lead VDC training sessions with learning and development.
• Test, plan, and direct implementation of new software/hardware as approved.
• Produce VDC estimates and cost analyses as requested.
• Mentor team members and delegate development tasks.
• Maintain site models, logistics plans, and consolidated coordination models.
• Coordinate model updates with trades and reflect changes in the model.
• Support project engineering duties such as submittals and trade management.
• Participate in vendor, supplier, and service provider negotiations.
