Job summary

Manhattan Construction Group in Oklahoma City is seeking a VDC Engineer 2 to support the VDC Manager and assist in project coordination. You will help develop BIM plans and coordinate models across trades. The role requires strong communication, reading drawings, and proficiency with Autodesk Suite, Bluebeam, Revizto, Tekla, and Microsoft Office. Travel may be required; you will be part of a safety‑focused, client‑driven team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 2–5 years of experience in construction or architecture/design with knowledge of VDC software.
  • Ability to stand, bend, sit for long periods, and lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to read drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing project-specific BIM Execution Plan and attachments.
  • Set up and maintain coordination schedule.
  • Manage file exchange of latest models from trades and design teams.
  • Model building components not modeled by Architect when required for MEP coordination.
  • Perform clash detection reviews prior to coordination meetings.
  • Manage weekly coordination meetings and report progress to project and VDC teams.
  • Assist in training software workflows with project teams or trade partners.
  • Monitor software/technologies to improve workflows.

POSITIONSUMMARY:

The VDC Engineer 2 assists and supports the VDCManager or Senior VDC Manager on an assigned project. The position works underdirect supervision, performs routine daily activities, and gathers anddistributes information for the coordination effort on the project. The VDCEngineer must be a flexible and adaptable team player and have strongcommunication and client service skills.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist indeveloping project-specific BIM Execution plan and contract attachments.
  • Set up andmaintain coordination schedule
  • Manage thefile exchange of the latest models from trade partners and design teams.
  • Modeling ofbuilding components not modeled by the Architect or Design Team whenrequired to complete MEP coordination.
  • Performclash detection reviews prior to coordination meetings.
  • Manage theweekly coordination meetings and be able to report progress to the projectteam and VDC team
  • Assist teamwith cmBuilder logistics/sequencing setup and management
  • Track andverify as-built submittals from key trades.
  • Assist intraining software workflows with project teams or trade partners.
  • Monitorsoftware/technologies available to make workflows more efficient
  • AssistSenior VDC Manager and VDC Managers
  • Assist in data capture and recording of existing, progress and final conditions utilizing combinations of technologies IE 360 cameras, drones etc
  • Assist in overall IT/software usage within the Oklahoma City region
  • Responsiblefor conducting themselves in accordance with our Guiding Principles andexhibiting attributes matching the Way We Work.
  • Other dutiesas assigned

JOBSKILLS & ABILITIES GUIDELINES:

  • Ability/willingness to attain drone pilot’s license (if not currently licensed).
  • Computer knowledge and efficiency, including Autodesk Suite, Bluebeam, Revizto, Tekla, and Microsoft Office
  • Ability/willingness to learn new software and technology usage to support regional needs
  • Ability to learn Manhattan document control
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic math/accounting skills

MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree- Construction Management, Engineering orequivalent. May substitute required education degree with relatedexperience on a one-to-one basis
  • 2-5 years of experience in construction or architecture/design & knowledge of VDC Software

WORKINGCONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORTS:

  • Ability to physically stand, bend, sit for long periods, and squat throughout the day.
  • Ability to repeat the same movements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to participate fully in meetings, video conferences, and phone calls.
  • Use hands to type, handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or control.
  • Occasionally lift, pull, or move up to 25 lbs.
  • Occasional travel will be required, primarily in the metropolitan area but sometimes domestically (must have a valid Driver’s License).
