Job summary

Batson-Cook Construction is seeking a VDC Engineer in Atlanta, GA to develop and manage building information models for complex projects. You will create 3D models from 2D drawings, coordinate across trades, and support scheduling with 4D tools while upholding BIM standards.

The role requires a related bachelor's degree with 1–5 years of experience, strong communication, and the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction, engineering, architecture (or similar relevant degree) with 1-5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Understand Batson-Cook best practices.
• Develop and modify BIM from 2D documents; create 3D models from 2D plans.
• Coordinate 3D models and scheduling (4D).
• Maintain BIM standards and project documents.
• Interact professionally with clients, suppliers and staff; manage 3D coordination during design or construction.
• Attend site visits and participate in core skills courses to reinforce company values.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities Include

• Understand Batson-Cook best practices
• Create and modify building information modeling for various purposes including:
• Develop 3D models from 2D documents
• 3D coordination
• 4D scheduling
• Project pursuits
• Maintain BIM standards
• Communicate with (or to) individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing (e.g. customers, suppliers, employees). Maintain relationship to ensure needs are met and problems/conflicts are resolved.
• Conduct should be in a professional manner and should represent the organization well
• Manage 3D coordination process either during design or construction
• Have a thorough understanding of project documents and specifications
• Interact successfully and in a professional manner with internal and external clients
• Maintain project documents including models
• Support project staff with the use of BIM
• Effective time management skills
• Must attain the following training/certifications:
• BIM 101
• Revit 4-day training
• Navisworks training
• Synchro training
• BIM 360 Field training
• BIM 360 Glue training
• VFP training
• Basic conceptual scheduling training
• Attend at least 3 site visits
• Attend all Core Skills courses
• Communicates and reinforces the Company vision, mission and values
• Communicate with (or to) individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing (e.g. customers, suppliers, employees). Maintain relationship to ensure needs are met and problems/conflicts are resolved.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction, engineering, architecture (or similar relevant degree) from a four-year College or University with 1-5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
