Job summary

Power Design, Inc. seeks a VDC Design Manager/Senior Design Manager to lead the virtual design and coordination process for critical electrical, mechanical, and plumbing projects.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in construction VDC, BIM modeling, detailing, or installation within electrical, mechanical, or plumbing systems.
• Strong knowledge of codes, standards, and installation methods.
• Proficiency with Revit and working knowledge of AutoCAD, Navisworks, Bluebeam, and other BIM tools.
• Ability to lead coordination efforts and resolve design and constructability conflicts.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead VDC coordination from preconstruction through design completion.
• Manage schedules, deliverables, and VDC timelines.
• Lead coordination meetings and resolve clashes.
• Review plans, BIM Execution Plans, contracts, and jurisdiction requirements.
• Develop and maintain BIM models, coordination drawings, fabrication drawings, shop drawings, and installation documentation.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, and field teams for constructability reviews and installation planning.
• Evaluate design alternatives and provide value engineering recommendations.
• Maintain project documentation (RFIs, ASIs, addenda).
• Monitor project budgets, schedules, and production goals; ensure quality deliverables.
• Provide technical guidance to VDC team and stakeholders.

About the PositionThe VDC Design Manager/Senior Design Manager plays a critical role in the successful delivery of construction projects by leading the virtual design and coordination process for assigned projects.
