Job summary

Limbach Facility Services LLC is seeking a VDC Detailer to support the VDC department in creating installation documents and data transmission for field installers.

Key tasks include developing HVAC, piping, and plumbing VDC models, setting up projects, and preparing clean Revit exports for AutoCAD backgrounds. Occasional site visits required; a strong eye for detail and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of industry-specific experience OR trade school completion or Associate’s Degree in a related field.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel in particular).
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences and work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the development of HVAC, Piping, and Plumbing VDC Models.
• Performs project setups, sheet creation, and filter creation.
• Processes and cleans Revit model exports for 2D CAD backgrounds (AutoCAD).
• Executes site setups, including Google Drive, BIM 360 products, and FTP sites.
• Imports MAJ files from Estimating into Revit models for pre-population.
• Tags and dimensions HVAC/Piping/Plumbing drawings for field installers.
• Assists with project closeouts, including drawing archival.
• Prioritizes safety on construction sites.

Who You Are…

As VDC Detailer, you will be responsible for supporting the VDC department in the creation of installation documents and transmission of data for field installers.

This Position…

Some examples of the work you might do includes:

• Assists in the development of HVAC, Piping, and Plumbing VDC Models.
• Performs new project setups/sheet creation/filter creation.
• Processes and cleans Revit model exports for 2D CAD backgrounds for use in Autocad.
• Executes application site set ups, including Google Drive, BIM 360 products, and company FTP sites.
• Imports MAJ files from the Estimating Department into Revit models for pre-population purposes.
• Tags and dimension HVAC/Piping/Plumbing drawings for field installers.
• Assists with project closeouts, including drawing and file archival.
• Prioritizes and encourages safety while executing work tasks, especially when at a construction site.

What You Need…

• 1-2 years of industry-specific experience OR Trade school completion or Associate’s Degree in a related field.
• Working knowledge of AutoCad, Revit, and Navisworks.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel in particular).
• Ability to effectively communicate (both verbally and in writing) with diverse audiences.
• Must be organized, attentive to detail, and possess strong problem-solving skills.
• Capacity to effectively work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
• Ability to travel occasionally to local job sites.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Trade school completion or Associate’s Degree in a related field.
