Job summary

Batchelor & Kimball, Inc. in Conyers, GA, seeks an experienced BIM/CAD drafter to support mechanical and plumbing projects. You will work with VDC specialists to produce fabrication drawings, spool maps, BOMs, and kitting documentation, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project schedules.

Candidates should have knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, CADMEP, Navisworks, and strong communication and organizational skills; on-site collaboration with subcontractors is required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of installation of mechanical or plumbing systems.
• Experience with BIM software such as Revit, AutoCAD, CADMEP, Navisworks is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Create fabrication and installation drawings for mechanical and plumbing systems.
• Create fabrication spool drawings for prefabrication of pipe systems.
• Annotate fabrication spool map drawings and shop drawings.
• Create bill of materials and pipe cut lists.
• Coordinate with team members to complete models and drawings.
• Assist in QA/QC reviews of work produced by the team.

Job description

We offer design/build and turnkey construction services, including teaming with selected subcontractors for electrical and general construction.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

• Work with VDC Specialists on the creation of detailed fabrication and installation drawings for Mechanical and Plumbing systems
• Create fabrication spool drawings for the prefabrication of pipe systems
• Create fabrication spool drawing map to identify installation location of prefabricated pipe spools
• Annotation of fabrication spool map drawings
• Annotation of fabrication and installation shop drawings
• Creation of bill of materials
• Creation of pipe cut lists
• Creation of pipe identification labels
• Work with other team members to complete models and drawings as required
• Assist fabrication shop with kitting and carting for efficient job site delivery
• Perform QA/QC review of work personally produced prior to issue to other teams
• Assist in QA/QC review of work produced by other spoolers within the team

Communicate with VDC Specialists to ensure that fabrication intent is clearly communicated on fabrication spool drawings

• Maintain training and continued education for incumbent and team to continually improve accuracy and productivity
• Provide Input to management regarding both hardware and software requirements to perform duties

Supervisory /Budgetary / External communications responsibility

• This an individual contribution role. The incumbent will be responsible for communicating with internal employee as well as third party companies and the IT team at EMCOR.

Prior Work Experience And Educational Requirements

• Knowledge of experience with installation of mechanical or plumbing systems.
• Knowledge of Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Autodesk Fabrication CADMEP, Autodesk Navisworks or any other BIM software is a plus
• A working familiarity and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products including Excel, Word, and Outlook and ability to be trained in use of the Company-specific applications and software.
