Job summary

SPC Mechanical Corporation in Wendell, NC seeks a CAD/BIM drafter to support Lead Coordinator with construction planning, costs, and layout/fabrication drawings. You will adhere to standards, codes, specs and SOPs while using BIM tools.

You will work with Revit, Navis, Susque and Vic Tools, along with Excel and Outlook, to prepare drawings, BOMs, cut sheets, and shop documents for mechanical and piping installations.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of AutoCAD Design software; MS Internet Explorer Internet software; MS Excel Spreadsheet software and MS Word Processing software.

Responsibilities

• Spooling, labeling, dimensioning, documentation, printing spool books and drawings; ensure compliance with standards and conventions.
• Attend meetings with PM/FS/LC.
• Create, update and maintain equipment/fittings libraries for BIM systems.
• File all drawings, BOMs, and cut sheets; provide detailed shop drawings for duct and piping with timelines from project manager.
• Provide piping and hanger assembly drawings for Pipe Fab Shop, Sheet Metal Shop and Prefabrication Shops.
• Learn information regarding mechanical and plumbing installations for MEP systems.
• Utilize CAD/CADD tools and BIM software (Revit, Navis, Sysque, Vic Tools, Excel, Go to Meeting).
• Draw finished designs from sketches; adjust as needed.

Responsibilities

• Spooling, Labeling, Dimensioning, Documentation, Printing Spool Books, Printing Drawings, Compliance with Standards, Compliance with Naming Conventions, Placing Hangers, running reports on Hangers, Running Reports on Materials, and Placing of Trimble points.
• Attend meetings with PM/FS/LC.
• Provide assistance in creating, updating and maintaining libraries of equipment, fittings for BIM system.
• Properly files all drawings, BOMs, and cut sheets.
• Provide detailed shop drawings as required of duct and piping for complete project, with in-time frames provided by project manager or department manager.
• Provide piping and hanger assembly drawings for Pipe Fab Shop, Sheet Metal Shop and/or Prefabrication Shops.
• Learn all necessary information regarding mechanical and plumbing installations that will apply to MEP systems.
• Utilizes knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials, and other physical sciences to complete drawings.
• Make any adjustments or changes necessary or desired.
