Job summary

PCL Construction Services, Inc. in Minneapolis, Minnesota seeks an Integrated Construction Technology (VDC) Specialist. You will build and validate virtual models from plans, coordinate with project teams, and manage BIM deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.

The role requires 2–4 years in construction and strong knowledge of BIM tools such as Revit and Navisworks, plus experience with 4D scheduling and construction technology.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, diploma, or 2-year certificate in buildings-industry related discipline.
• 2–4 years of construction-related experience, including 1–2 years in VDC.
• Understanding of construction sequences.
• Awareness of implementing construction technology.
• Ability to provide project model management and BIM execution.
• Ability to read 2D/3D drawings and translate to BIM.
• Proficiency in 3D modeling software (Revit, Navisworks, Civil3D).
• Exposure to 4D scheduling tools (Synchro, cmBuilder).
• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Builds, reviews, or validates virtual models from plans, specs, and elevations.
• Collaborates on development of construction-site logistics models.
• Supervises trade detailing and design deliverables coordination.
• Recommends scopes for VDC tools during pursuit stage.
• Collaborates with Estimating on model compliance checks.
• Reviews BIM/tech contract language and BIM execution plan.
• Facilitates trade partner model coordination and reports to PM team.
• Keeps multidiscipline construction models current and aligned with standards.
• Participates in kickoff meetings and coordinates BIM issuesRFIs.
• Promotes adoption of virtual construction tools and technologies.

Education

Bachelor's degree, diploma, or 2-year certificate in buildings-industry related discipline (AEC, civil, architectural)
