A leading audit firm is seeking a VDA 6.3 Process Auditor Contractor to conduct audits of suppliers in the automotive industry. The role requires 3–5 years of experience in supplier audits and VDA 6.3 certification. Travel to various locations in Michigan is expected, and hours are generally during business hours. This is a 1099 contract position with varying project timelines.
Responsibilities:
Conduct VDA 6.3 partial-scope audits (P5–P7) of Aptiv’s suppliers
P5: Supplier Management
P6: Production Process Analysis
P7: Customer Support & Service
Focus only on in-production suppliers using standard components
Certifications Required:
Must have: VDA 6.3 Process Auditor Certification (issued by VDA-QMC)
Nice to have: IATF 16949 Certification (as backup only)
Experience:
3–5 years of experience in supplier audits within the automotive industry
Solid understanding and use of VDA 6.3 methodology
Preferred: Experience conducting partial-scope (P5–P7) audits
Industry Background:
Automotive manufacturing
Experience auditing Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers preferred
Job Type: 1099 Contractor
Project Duration: Multiple audits across various U.S. locations. Each audit averages 1.5 man-days (1 day on-site, 0.5 day for reporting). Note: This is a 1099 contract role—project timelines vary based on client needs.
Shift Hours: Typically standard business hours (approx. 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM local time). Note: As a 1099 contractor, schedules may change depending on the assigned project.
Location: Must be able to travel to Rochester Hills, MI/ Detroit, MI. Future audits may be assigned in other MI areas.
