We've got heart! At Stony Point Pauley Heart Clinic, we provide a range of cardiology services, including both cardiothoracic and vascular surgery. Our nurses assist echo sonographers, room patients, provide pre-op education for surgery patients, and more. We are a small clinic where our team members work collaboratively and serve as educators for each other.

Our clinic offers flexibility to work 4 10’s or 5 8’s with hours Monday-Friday. No weekends, nights, or holidays are required, and our team members enjoy free parking onsite at the Stony Point campus. At least 1 year of acute care RN experience, preferably in the cardiology specialty, is required.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Integrates technical skills and theoretical knowledge to meet the needs of patients and families.
2. Assists the health care team with the prevention of illness and injury, maintenance of wellness, and provision of comfort.
3. Delivers and accurately documents direct, age-specific care based on medical orders and a multidisciplinary plan of care.
4. Safely administers prescribed medications, identifying incompatibilities and/or interactions.
5. Recognizes changes in patient situations and intervenes appropriately.
6. Provides direction, education, and assumes leadership responsibilities at the unit level.

Licensure and Certification Requirements:

Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible for compact state.

AHA BLS HCP Certification or equivalent.

Experience Required:

• Clin I: N/A
• Clin II: 12 to 24 months RN experience
• Clin III: 3 years of clinical experience

Education/Training Required:

• Diploma or Associates Degree from a professional nursing program recognized by the corresponding state’s Board of Nursing.
• All registered nurses without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) will be required to enroll in an approved RN to BSN program within two years of their start date and complete the program within five years of their start date unless grandfathered under previous requirements.

Physical Requirements:

• Lifting 20-50 lbs.
• Exposure to potentially hazardous and infectious substances.
• Prolonged standing, sitting, and frequent bending.
• Strong recall, reasoning, problem-solving, and logical thinking skills.
