Job summary

Teledyne Technologies Incorporated seeks a VCSEL Production Technician to join the Teledyne Scientific & Imaging division. This role focuses on assembling, inspecting, testing and packaging VCSELs in a cleanroom, operating advanced equipment and documenting results to support manufacturing schedules.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 3–5 years of experience in electronics manufacturing, semiconductor assembly, cleanroom operations, electronic packaging, optoelectronics, or precision assembly.
• Ability to read and follow technical drawings, manufacturing procedures, specifications, and work instructions.
• Experience with cleanroom manufacturing processes, electro-mechanical assembly, inspection, and testing equipment.
• Excellent visual acuity and manual dexterity for microscope-based work.
• Strong organizational, documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills with a commitment to product quality.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word and Excel).
• U.S. Citizenship required due to the nature of the work and facility access requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform assembly, inspection, testing, and packaging of VCSELs and related electro-optical products in a cleanroom manufacturing environment.
• Operate semiconductor manufacturing equipment including pick-and-place systems, AuSn reflow soldering equipment, wire bonders, die attach systems, and electro-optical test equipment.
• Conduct microscope-based assembly, inspection, cleaning, and packaging activities in accordance with procedures and work instructions.
• Perform product testing, inspection, and data collection while documenting production and test results.
• Monitor quality, identify nonconforming materials or process deviations, and support corrective actions and material disposition.
• Set up, operate, and maintain manufacturing and test equipment while keeping cleanroom organized.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, Inventory, Shipping, and Engineering to support schedules and throughput.
