Job summary

Veterans Canteen Service seeks an experienced Health Tech (Optician) to support operations at the Las Cruces, NM VA Clinic. You will coordinate optical operations and act as a liaison between VCS, eye clinic providers, and prosthetics teams to enhance veteran eyewear services.

The role requires at least 1 year as an Optician, strong problem-solving in prescriptions, and proficiency with optical equipment to ensure high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one (1) year of experience working as an Optician required.
• A current, valid REAL ID is required to work with the Veterans Canteen Service.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently while managing responsibilities efficiently and maintaining high standards of patient service.
• Ability to identify prescription discrepancies or anomalies and take appropriate corrective action to ensure accuracy and patient satisfaction.
• Skilled in identifying and resolving optical issues, including prescription verification, transitions verification, optical center alignment, segment height accuracy, and appropriate frame selection.

Experience
